November 2016 is Birthday Party Month at Beacon's Glow Collectibles!

Please join us in celebrating two special birthdays this month!  Beacon's Glow Collectibles turns 13 and Charlie Bears turns 11 and both happen in November.

The BG birthday party will be held the weekend of November 11th through Sunday, November 13th.  We have many special birthday celebration ideas planned - free giveaways, special sales, and lots of super weekend Deals of the Day.

Then the following weekend we will be having the Second Annual Charlie Bears Birthday Party!

This party will occur on Saturday, November 19th and this year we have been allocated all of our mystery birthday boxes.  Many have been reserved by customers but we still have a few left.  If you are interested, please email us at info@beaconsglow.com .  Several customers have made some really good guesses as far as who the mini mystery bear might be inside.  Personally, I am hoping that it will be a mini version of Jim Bob, once of my favorite plush teddy bears.

Additionally, we will have giveaways and lots of stupendous Charlie Bear Deals of the Day!

UPDATE - Charlie Bears 2016 Birthday Party

Oh what fun we had at last year's Charlie Bears 10th Anniversary Party!

Just got word from Charlie Bears that the date for this year's Birthday Party has been changed from Saturday. November 12th to Saturday, November 19th.

All customers and collectors are invited to participate in this very special party.  2016 marks the 11th year in business for Charlie Bears and we are very proud to be one of the largest Charlie Bears retailers located in the USA.

We here at Beacon's Glow Collectibles will have plenty of the Birthday Goodie Boxes (containing a mystery mini bear of one of Charlie Bear's most popular teddies in the past) and other little goodies as well.  Currently we still have some available to reserve so if you have not done so, and would like a goodie box, please email us at info@beaconsglow.com.

In addition, we will be having great specials throughout the day on both plush and mohair Charlie Bears.

Fluffy is a 2016 URSA Award Winner!

2016 has been a fantastic year for Brenda, the owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles.  She found out just the other day that Fluffy (pictured above) a Minky Hare that she created has won either 1st, 2nd, or third place in the 2016 URSA Awards.  She will find out in October which place she won when the Bears&Buds online magazine is published.

According to the Bears & Buds website, "The URSA Awards are a worldwide competition that feature exquisite and unique bears/buds created by teddy bear and soft sculptured artists."

Each category is limited to 20 entries, and there are many categories.

2016 DOLLS Award of Excellence Winner for Brenda

I was absolutely thrilled to find out that my entry for the DOLLS Magazine 2016 Industry's Choice Awards was announced as a winner at the recent International Doll & Teddy Show held in Ashville, NC. Little Darling in Violet was under the Doll Face-Up/Repaint Category. Many thanks to the judges who voted for her.

Some additional information about Little Darling in Violet as submitted to DOLLS Magazine:

"Little Darling in Violet wears a handmade full-length dress made from dupioni silk in majestic purple.  Both the sleeves and skirt are edged in purple plum pleated satin ribbon trim.  Each row of  pleated trim on her dress is adorned with white Victorian lace that has been embellished with Swarovski AB (Aurora Borealis) crystal flat back crystals, white Swarovski pearls, and purple pearls interspersed throughout.  In addition, tiny crystal Swarovski faceted crystals are strategically placed throughout the white Victorian lace backed by an iridescent pearl cup sequin. 

Little Darling in Violet wears a pair of white tights and white patent leather shoes decorated with tiny white ribbon bows and Swarovski AB crystal flat back crystals that match those in her dress.

She wears a hand-beaded necklace with an iridescent snakeskin oval cabochon surrounded by amethyst iris seed beads. This pendant hangs from a faux diamond encrusted chain.  Little Darling in Violet also wears a pair of white Swarovski pearl earrings. 

Her long, dark brown hair is pulled back from her face and she wears a matching violet organza ribbon in her hair.

In addition, her fingernails have been painted with a matching violet polish to perfectly coordinate with her outfit.

We are very pleased to announce that we recently received in our first shipment of Clemens Bears.  These bears and little critters are handmade in Germany and are of a very high quality.
