Steiff Bears Commemorates the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts

It doesn't seem possible that the Girl Scouts have been around for 1oo years, but this year marks the 100th anniversary of the organization. And Steiff Bears has created a very special North American Exclusive bear to prove it! This incredible bear aptly named 'Girl Scout Centenary Bear EAN 681813' stands 13 inches and is made from the finest Schulte golden blonde mohair. She wears the latest Girl Scouts 'official' uniform which consistes of a green skirt, white blouse, and the classic green sash that holds her achievement badges, as well as her troop information. A must have Steiff Bear for any current or alumnae Girl Scout. . .

For those of you who did not know, Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low assembled 18 young girls on March 12, 1912, for the first ever Girl Scout meeting. The meeting occured in Savannah, Georgia, and was the start of was what to grow into a huge national organization. Today the Girl Scouts of the USA boasts a membership of over 3.2 million girls and adults. And additionally, more than 50 million women in the US are Girl Scout alumnae (owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles to be included in that list).
