First Ladies Collection by Madame Alexander

We are pleased to announce that the Alexander Doll Company is reintroducing their famous First Ladies Collection in 2008. Each of the 3 dolls to be introduced this year are 8" Wendy Madame Alexander Dolls specifically chosen because of their popularity. They include: Dolly Madison, Mary Todd Lincoln, and Eleanor Roosevelt. Each comes with a descriptive bio card.

As her contribution to America's Bicentennial, Madame Alexander premiered the First Ladies Doll Collection in 1976 to honor the women who helped shape our country, dressing each doll in reproductions of inagural ball gowns.

In fact, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum of San Marcos, Texas, will be exhibiting a personal collection of First Ladies this year on President's Day as a tribute. (Incidentally, the Alexander Doll Company is the only remaining major manufacturer of handcrafted dolls in America, and is celebrating their 85th anniversary this year).

We here at Beacon's Glow Collectibles will be anxiously awaiting the introduction of Lady Bird Johnson, who holds a special place in the heart of Texans.

  1. This is great that the Alexander Doll company is bringing back their "First Ladies" Collection of dolls. Any idea how many will be in this collection and how often they will be introducing new additions? thanks
