Update on Charlie Bears 10th Anniversary Bear Collection

We would like to share an update on the Charlie Bears 10th Anniversary Special Bear Collection.  There are 10 bears from this Collection pictured on page 3 of the 10th Anniversary catalog (including the mystery bear).

Retailers will be able to order the following for their customers:

These adorable little teddybears are expected to start shipping from the Charlie Bear Bearhouse sometime in October.  (Please let us know if you would like for us to reserve any of these for you).

Unfortunately, we were informed that the following bears will ONLY be sold on QVC UK.  (We hope that stockists will get the opportunity in the future to order these as well).  Here is hoping!

Introducing Katie Country Bears

We are pleased to get the opportunity to offer handmade teddy bears and animals from the very talented UK bear artist, Kay Holroyd. Incidentally she has been creating these tiny teddies since 2007.

These adorable Katie Country Bears are usually tiny 5 inch bears but once in a while Kay will produce a larger 7 inch bear.  Each teddy is made from either mohair, alpaca or Tissavel fur.

Many of Kay's bears wear a cute bobble hat that has been hand-knit from Kay's friend who lives in Spain.

We have received in one shipment of these bears (consisting of 8 different bears and one elephant) and all have been sold with the exception of 1!  So pleased to hear that Kay is shipping us a small number of bears now and then a larger order will be soon to follow.

Trust us in that they are even cuter in person! Please stay tuned for our next shipment!

Charlie Bear Travel Buddies Arriving Soon!

We are pleased to announce that we have an order of Charlie Bear Travel Buddies that will be arriving soon.

Each Travel Buddy Bear is named after a famous traveler or explorer.  We were sure to include the background story for each of these collectable teddy bears on the Beacon's Glow website.

Six little buddies will be arriving in the near future to include:  Armstrong (a grey teddy); Hilary (a raspberry colored teddy); Livingstone (a lilac teddy); Oates (a putty brown teddy); Scott (a light blue teddy); and Shackleton (a green teddy).

Each bear is an adorable 4-1/2 inches and is made from the finest, cuddly soft plush fur.

Every Travel Buddy is intended to be small enough to take with you wherever you go, and each comes with their own travel box. All are very reasonably priced.

Kaycee Bear Dragons Taking the World by Storm!

We have heard through the grapevine that the popularity of Kelsey Cunningham's dragons (owner of Kaycee Bears) are being highly sought after by collectors.

As hopefully you might know, Kaycee Bears and critters are designed by Kelsey in the UK and entirely created in the UK.  That is certainly refreshing news these days.

Rumour has it that Hamleys (a huge toy store that can easily be compared to FAO Swartz in the US) put out 5 of these adorable plush dragons at night and all were gone by 2 pm the next day.

Beacon's Glow Collectibles will be getting in three of these very collectible dragons in the next 6-8 weeks.  We are so excited to be getting this opportunity as in the past, Kelsey's dragons had already sold out in the UK before we got to see them here in the US.

The names of these cuties are Grifter (a greenish-brown dragon), Fire Storm (a red and yellow dragon), and Cloud Dancer (a very pretty mauve colored dragon).

Introducing "Eyes of Texas" Dolls

Brenda, Owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles, has been at it again.  Her latest endeavor is creating her "Eyes of Texas" Dolls hand-poured and hand-finished with the world-famous Dianna Effner doll molds.

She finds that she thoroughly enjoys paining the dolls eyes and this is truly what makes them unique and truly a collectible.

Each doll stands approximately 12 inches tall and each wears a hand-sewn sleeveless dress and pair of panties.

Every doll comes with pierced earrings (attached), pair of woven socks, white Mary Jane shoes, and a tiny brown plush teddy bear.  (Can you determine the brand of the teddy bear?)

Brenda will continue to fine tune her sewing skills and proceed with more complicated dresses and outfits for the dolls.

Another Hats 4 Hope Donation

A shipment of our quarterly goal of 25 preemie baby hats are headed on their way to the Hats 4 Hope organization.  This puts our total number of hand-crocheted hats donated at 125 and counting.  (We plan on donating at least 100 hats per year as a goal).

For those of you who have donated monies during checkout, thank you!  Your money has all gone towards the purchase of yarn to crochet these little hats.

It is great that MSNBC's heartwarming "Making a Difference" series has still kept Suzy's (founder of Hats 4 Hope) news spotlight online.
