We are thrilled in becoming an authorized retailer of Paola Reina Dolls. What refreshing news - they are handmade in Spain and all materials are sourced from Europe.
All dolls are vinyl and are phalate-free and the collections we will be carrying range in size from 12-1/2 inches to 19 1/2 inches tall. The following collections will initially be offered to customers but we expect to be expanding into other lines as time goes on.
Las Amigas Dolls -
All Las Amigas dolls have articulating arms, legs, and heads and can be placed in both standing and sitting positions. These beautiful handmade dolls feature large expressive eyes which do not close, lush eyelashes and hair. These vinyl dolls are soft to the touch yet durable, feature Paola Reina’s light vanilla scent and are phthalate free. All Las Amigas dolls stand 12.5inch (32cm) in height.
Soy Tu Dolls -
All Soy Tu dolls have articulating arms, legs, and heads and can be placed in both standing and sitting positions. These unique handmade dolls feature large eloquent eyes that close when the doll is laid down or tilted backward. Soy Tu dolls also have long and lush hair that is easily brushed and styled. Soy Tu vinyl dolls are soft to the touch yet durable, feature Paola Reina’s light vanilla scent and are phthalate free. All Soy Tu dolls stand 15.7inch (40cm) in height.
Las Reinas de Paola Dolls -
All Las Reinas dolls have articulating arms, legs, heads, and joints; their knees and elbows bend and their wrists and feet can turn. Las Reinas dolls can be placed in either a standing or seated position. These charmingly beautiful handmade dolls have large eloquent eyes, which do not close and are trimmed with lush eyelashes. Their life-like hair can easily be brushed and styled. Las Reinas vinyl dolls are soft to the touch yet durable, feature Paola Reina’s light vanilla scent and are phthalate free. All Las Reinas dolls stand 23.6inch (60cm) in height.
Los Ninos Dolls -
All Los Niños dolls have movable arms, legs, and heads and can be placed in a seated position. These charming handmade dolls feature large, sparkling eyes that are trimmed with thick eyelashes. Los Niños dolls also have thick, lush hair that can easily be brushed and styled. Los Niños have soft yet durable vinyl heads, arms and legs and a soft stuffed body making them perfect to hug and snuggle. All Los Niños dolls feature Paola Reina’s light vanilla scent and stand 19.6inch (50 cm) in height.
Marcos & Laura Dolls -
Marcos & Laura are Paola Reina’s largest soft bodied dolls. Both Marcos and Laura have movable arms, legs, and heads and can be placed in a seated position. These beautifully handmade dolls feature large, sparkling eyes that close when the doll is laid down or tilted backward and are trimmed with thick eyelashes. Marcos and Laura dolls also have thick, lush hair that can easily be brushed and styled. Marcos and Laura have soft yet durable vinyl heads, arms and legs and a soft stuffed body making them perfect to hug and snuggle. Marcos and Laura dolls feature Paola Reina’s light vanilla scent and stand 23.6inch (60 cm) in height.

Justin and Madison, both 3 month old Poms, are just about all I am talking about these days. They are so much fun to watch and both are so very lovable and cuddly.
Each has their own distinct personalities and as time passes, each of them reveals another cute personality trait.
They both have truly brought a lot of joy into our household and I can't imagine life without them.

These two adorable Pomeranian puppies were supposed to be settling down for bed, but decided that they had one more burst of energy to get out of their systems. The chase is over a chew stick by the way.
The noise in the background is a white noise machine to help them sleep. And of course, the barking and noises are compliments of Madison, the little sable puppy, who just likes to be vocal most of the time. (She even makes a sound when she yawns after a nap :)).
They are both growing and so very happy. Getting a bit more active week by week.

Saturday, November 14, 2015, marks the official day of Charlie Bear's 10th Anniversary.
To mark this very special event, we will be carrying limited edition Charlie Bear anniversary goodie boxes that can be purchased from us November 14th onward. Each goodie box will be priced at $89.95.
All goodie boxes will contain a limited edition secret Anniversary Birthday Bear, and goodies that are unique to each box.
We will reveal the identify of the secret Anniversary Bear at 9:00 am on November 14th.

Hope that all of you have had a terrific Summer. Guess that it is still very hot in most parts of the country, and all of the kids are heading back to school. A very quiet time in the collectible world, that is for sure.
Hoping to hear from Charlie Bears soon that a shipment from their 2015 10th Anniversary Collection is on its way.
But we are excited to announce that the first (of 12 dragons) from Kelsey of Kaycee Bears will be arriving soon. His name is Chaos and he is the largest of all of the dragons.
He is a magnificent 33-inch long dragon made from a vibrant orange plush with orange-yellow accents.

It is quite refreshing to know that some companies still take the time and initiative to give all employees a summer break. That is the case with Charlie Bears in the UK. The Bearhouse (as they call it) will close from June 19 - July 6.

Brenda Mize, Owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles and Eyes of Texas Dolls, will soon be creating 14 inch doll with cloth bodies. As with her 12-inch dolls currently for sale, she will be using the famous Dianna Effner doll molds. Dianna is an amazing sculptor and the faces on all of her dolls are both endearing, innocent, and sweet.
This is a new endeavor for Brenda but she is certainly up to the challenge. Instead of solid bodies, these dolls will have a cloth body with armature for posing.
Additionally, research is currently being made to create dresses for these dolls as well.

We are very excited to announce that Kaycee Bears is working on the prototype for the Special Edition teddy for Beacon's Glow Collectibles. We hope to see the actual prototype in the next couple of weeks and from that point, the bears will be handmade in the UK as always.
Kelsey from Kaycee Bears is an amazing and very special individual by the way. It is wonderful that the popularity of her bears and animals is steadily increasing day by day. We are so pleased to hear this and to also get the special opportunity to be one of her very few US stockists (aka retailers).
After being in business for almost 12 years and never being offered a special limited edition item, we are all very excited about this special opportunity.

We are pleased to get the opportunity to offer handmade teddy bears and animals from the very talented UK bear artist, Kay Holroyd. Incidentally she has been creating these tiny teddies since 2007.
These adorable Katie Country Bears are usually tiny 5 inch bears but once in a while Kay will produce a larger 7 inch bear. Each teddy is made from either mohair, alpaca or Tissavel fur.
Many of Kay's bears wear a cute bobble hat that has been hand-knit from Kay's friend who lives in Spain.
We have received in one shipment of these bears (consisting of 8 different bears and one elephant) and all have been sold with the exception of 1! So pleased to hear that Kay is shipping us a small number of bears now and then a larger order will be soon to follow.

Each Travel Buddy Bear is named after a famous traveler or explorer. We were sure to include the background story for each of these collectable teddy bears on the Beacon's Glow website.
Six little buddies will be arriving in the near future to include: Armstrong (a grey teddy); Hilary (a raspberry colored teddy); Livingstone (a lilac teddy); Oates (a putty brown teddy); Scott (a light blue teddy); and Shackleton (a green teddy).
Each bear is an adorable 4-1/2 inches and is made from the finest, cuddly soft plush fur.
Every Travel Buddy is intended to be small enough to take with you wherever you go, and each comes with their own travel box. All are very reasonably priced.

We have heard through the grapevine that the popularity of Kelsey Cunningham's dragons (owner of Kaycee Bears) are being highly sought after by collectors.
As hopefully you might know, Kaycee Bears and critters are designed by Kelsey in the UK and entirely created in the UK. That is certainly refreshing news these days.
Rumour has it that Hamleys (a huge toy store that can easily be compared to FAO Swartz in the US) put out 5 of these adorable plush dragons at night and all were gone by 2 pm the next day.
Beacon's Glow Collectibles will be getting in three of these very collectible dragons in the next 6-8 weeks. We are so excited to be getting this opportunity as in the past, Kelsey's dragons had already sold out in the UK before we got to see them here in the US.
The names of these cuties are Grifter (a greenish-brown dragon), Fire Storm (a red and yellow dragon), and Cloud Dancer (a very pretty mauve colored dragon).

Kaycee Bears - Handmade with Love and Care in England!

Brenda, Owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles, has been at it again. Her latest endeavor is creating her "Eyes of Texas" Dolls hand-poured and hand-finished with the world-famous Dianna Effner doll molds. She finds that she thoroughly enjoys paining the dolls eyes and this is truly what makes them unique and truly a collectible. Each doll stands approximately 12 inches tall and each wears a hand-sewn sleeveless dress and pair of panties. Every doll comes with pierced earrings (attached), pair of woven socks, white Mary Jane shoes, and a tiny brown plush teddy bear. (Can you determine the brand of the teddy bear?) Brenda will continue to fine tune her sewing skills and proceed with more complicated dresses and outfits for the dolls. Please stay tuned! A shipment of our quarterly goal of 25 preemie baby hats are headed on their way to the Hats 4 Hope organization. This puts our total number of hand-crocheted hats donated at 125 and counting. (We plan on donating at least 100 hats per year as a goal).
For those of you who have donated monies during checkout, thank you! Your money has all gone towards the purchase of yarn to crochet these little hats.
It is great that MSNBC's heartwarming "Making a Difference" series has still kept Suzy's (founder of Hats 4 Hope) news spotlight online.
We were extremely pleased to get the opportunity to carry Kaycee Bears in 2014. These amazing creations are handmade in the UK by founder, Kelsey Cunningham. (And the company is just wonderful to work with).
But we were saddened to hear that Kelsey will most probably be losing sight in one of her eyes.
This might have a profound effect on upcoming 2015 Kaycee Bear introductions.
We will keep you updated as soon as we hear of any updates from Kelsey. We so hope that Kelsey can recuperate from her condition.
