Because of the extremely hot summer in Texas, we were forced to remove all candles and wax dipped animals from the site a couple of months back. We did not want our customers to receive any of their wax items damaged during shipping because of melting. With record temperatures in Texas exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit throughout much of the summer, melting during transit was inevitable.
Just recently, we have re-introduced all Lang Primitive Jar Candles; Bear Dips by Beacon's Glow; and Little Dippers by Ganz back on the site.
Additionally, beginning October 1, 2006, we will once again promote our "Lang Candle of the Month" special.
Enjoy this wonderful Fall weather!

We refer to this guide often so we thought you might be interested in seeing the birthdates for several of Madame Alexander's more popular face sculpts.

Born in 1956. Reborn in 2006. Madame Alexander Lissy Dolls Have Arrived!
2006 marks an important year in the history of the Alexander Doll Company. They have re-introduced 12" Lissy, oftentimes known as Wendy's older sister.
We received in the first two Lissy dolls this past Saturday, and we have all agreed that they are much, much nicer in person than their images.
Both Spring Parade Lissy, and Homecoming Lissy, each come from a limited edition of only 400 dolls. We anticipate that more Lissys will be introduced during 2007.
According to the wonderful book, "Madame Alexander Dolls, An American Legend" by Stephanie Finnegan, Lissy was introduced in 1956 and was produced until 1965. Lissy was introduced as a pre-teen; the innocent-looking face was later used for Little Women. In 1963 the Lissy Classics Group used it for characters such as Scarlett O'Hara and Cinderella. A set of Little Women with this with this face was reproduced in the early 1990's.
