Eyes of Texas Dolls Made From Dianna Effner Doll Molds

Even to this day, the beautiful Dianna Effner Dolls still have a huge following.  There are several Facebook groups out there specifically dedicated to Dianna's Little Darling Dolls.  Little Darling Dolls come in three face sculpts - Little Darling #1, Little Darling #2, and you guessed it, Little Darling #3.  What truly sets these dolls apart are their hand-painted eyes.

Brenda Mize, Owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles, creates her own version of these 13 inch dolls and has been doing so since January of 2015.  Each doll is hand-poured, sanded and assembled from a unique air-dried casting material.  This material looks like porcelain and is stronger than porcelain.

Her favorite part in the creation of each doll is painting their eyes, hence, this is how the name  "Eyes of Texas Dolls"  came about.

Additionally, she has been teaching herself how to make smocked dresses for the dolls.  Smocking is all completed by hand and creates a very distinctive and old-fashioned look that is perfect for doll dresses.
