Marie Osmond Rosebud Ornaments

Beacon's Glow Collectibles is expanding their Marie Osmond inventory to include Marie's Rosebud Ornaments.

Each ornament is approximately 5 inches and consists of a circle decorated in ribbons and roses with a Rosebud doll bust attached. These adorable ornaments can either be hung by the attached ribbon or set on a table as the base of the doll is flat and suitable for display.

Additionally, each ornament is hallmarked with Marie's signature and hand-numbered on the back of her neck. The card inside included with each doll reads as follows: "Marie Osmond is pleased to offer a series of porcelain rose-inspired doll ornaments that will have your holidays "coming up roses!" Each ornament reflects the beauty, colorization, and essence of the actual rose it's named after to fill your home with beauty throughout the holidays and all year long."

We expect to be receiving in the rest of Marie's Rosebud ornaments in the next several weeks.

Absolutely perfect for that holiday tree of yours, or as a nice ornament to hang in a window or sit in a special place.

The Future of the Doll Industry

This month's DOLLS Magazine issue has a very interesting article titled "Industry Forecast". For those of you who have not had the opportunity to read this article, here are a few highlights taken from that article.

"Although no on can absolutely predict the future, there are signs that indicate market direction and growth potential. Serious doll collectors have not gone away. In fact, people have been collecting dolls for thousands of years and it's likely they'll continue to collect dolls for thousands of years to come. This is an indication that doll collecting is not just a passing fad, but also a stable industry with dedicated, loyal collectors who create a solid base from which to expand.

In a survey recently compiled by Jones Publishing, nearly 20 percent of the doll manufacturers responding felt the market will be slightly up in the next ten years and a whopping 80 percent felt the doll market will dramatically rise in the next ten years. What are their reasons for such optimism? Many have been through it before. They recognize the trends, monitor the reception of new products and hear firsthand the enthusiasm of the new collector base.

There is much reason for optimism in the doll business. These strong indicators point to a positive future and provide assurance that the dolls we love and cherish will continue to be produced. We can anticipate new concepts and designs that can be added to our collections and maybe even create new areas of interest for us." Written by Joe Jones, DOLLS Publisher

This is great news, and we here at Beacon's Glow collectibles are thrilled to be part of the wonderful world of doll collecting!

Madame Alexander's Sweetheart of the Corn Doll

Madame Alexander's Sweetheart of the Corn arrived late yesterday and she is certainly worthy of her own post. Since the Alexander Doll Company has labelled her as "Vintage Kellogg's", we can certainly assume that there will be more in this new 2007 Collection.

This adorable blonde haired, blue-eyed 8-inch Wendy doll comes dressed in a light blue and white checkered dress with red and white striped cotton detailing. The front of her dress is adorned with a green felt Kellogg's rooster. Also known as Cornelius the Rooster, this colorful character made his debut in 1958, and has graced the front of the Kellogg's Corn Flakes box ever since.

Also included with this Sweetheart of the Corn Wendy doll is a plush Tony the Tiger, a plush Toucan Sam, and a shiny silver cereal spoon. Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Tony the Tiger "roared" onto the scene back in 1951 with his famous line, "They're Gr-r-reat!" Toucan Sam, famous character on Kellogg's Froot Loops cereal box, made his debut back in 1963.

Incidentally, the Kellogg's Company celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2006. Waking up to these cereal boxes has been a way of life since most of us were small children.

As with all 8-inch and 10-inch Madame Alexander dolls purchased at Beacon's Glow Collectibles, a free Madame Alexander logo doll stand is included with this purchase of this adorable "Sweetheart of the Corn" Wendy doll.
